Son Goku  

He's the main character of the manga, is not an earthling but a Saiyan, he originates from the planet Vegeta.  Since the tender age Goku was a phenomenon in the field of the struggle. Two are his principal characteristics: he is a big simpleton and is furnished of a strange tail (it will lose it during the training developed under the control of Kami). The first one makes him believe to a lot of false things that are told him, bringing it so toward unbelievable dangers. The second is a peculiarity of all the members to its race. His is a stock of spatial warriors that make of their invincible strength a terrible weapon. Besides to be so strong, the Saiyan also have the ability to change in enormous gorillas when there is the full moon. Goku arrives on Earth in tender age and he would have owed to destroy everything but his grandfather's patience and a fortunate hit in head made that his bloodthirsty vocation of warrior changed in the devotion to the martial arts. The Saiyan have power to change and in every transformation they become more strong. The tail that bring is needed for the first transformation, but it is also their weak point, if it is tightened with strength the weak warriors lose all their strength, while if cut when they're transformed it makes them return to their human form. The other transformations allow the Saiyan to almost become invincible; last state is the Ulimate Super Saiyan one, reaching this is necessary to have the calm heart but also being  merciless. The preceding state to this is the Super Saiyan one, both they get resorting to the fusions.

 

Vegeta  

He is the proud Saiyan prince. Arrived on earth to take the spheres, he will remain with an account with Goku up to when, during the Majin Buu saga he will arrive to be possessed to increase his strength and to fight again against Goku. Proud up to prefer death to defeat he rebelled to Freeza to have been used from him for his greed of conquest. He will never succeed to accept the idea to be second to someone and especially to a plebeian as Goku, but at the end, also thanks to the fact that he now has a family with Bulma he will convert to good.

 

Son Gohan  

He is the first-born of Goku and Chichi. Much stronger than the father, he is trained in youth from Piccolo, of which becomes big friend. After the varied deaths of the father it is to him that are entrusted various times the fates of the world. When he is involved in the adventures he has as soon as four years. Because of the education received by the mother he's not interested in martial arts and he would prefer to become a big researcher. During the saga he will discover he's not totally an human. In a night of full moon he will be transformed in a terrible gorilla. Also like all the Saiyan he has the tail.

 

Son Goten  

He is the second child of Goku and Chichi, conceived before the Cell Game. He will see his father for the first time in angelic version. In the character it is very similar to Goku and to Gohan, with his goodness his altruism and with his innate will to live.

 

Piccolo  

Son of the powerful Piccolo-Daimoho, that tried in the first series to conquer the world and was defeated by the young Goku; Piccolo tries to continue the same purposes of the father, avenging him. But after the arrival of the Saiyan he is forced to unite with Goku. Piccolo originates from the planet Namecc and he belongs to the race of the Nameccians; particular signs are the color of the skin, green and the possibility to regenerate. Piccolo is a powerful fighter endowed with a superhuman strength. He participates in the third Tenkaichi with the purpose to avenge the death of the father.

 

Kami

Kami is an alien went a long time ago on earth, when he was still a child. Always at the search of good he succeeded in freeing of his wicked part that then became Piccolo-Daimoho, a powerful magician. Kami is the creator of the Spheres of the Dragon, that are an imitation of the original spheres created on the planet Namecc. Piccolo and Kami are tied tightly: if one of two dies, the same fate also touches to the other.

 

Krillin  

He is the first one of Goku training mates. Krillin is a monk that ran away from his monastery because of the wickedness of his mates. When he arrives from Muten, he wants to train for being able to avenge, but with the time becomes Goku's best friend. Time to time that Goku becomes stronger and stronger, Krillin doesn't succeed in remaining to the footstep of the friend, but continues to be next to his friends and if he can't help them with strength. he sustains them with the astuteness. Gohan also becomes his big friend. The only sorrow of Krillin are the girls because he's very, very shy.

 

Bulma  

Appeared since the first episode, is the daughter of the chief of the capsule Corp. After a first flirt with Yamcha she will be tied definitely to Vegeta, making Trunks and the small Bras. Very capricious and volitive, as time will pass she will reveale a good mother.

 

Yamcha  

He is the first true Goku adversary. He will also become one of the Z warriors but despite the hard trainings which he will undergone he will remain for the most marginal. Before becoming a muten student he earned from provision doing the marauder with his friend Pual. Then he met Goku and Bulma searching the spheres. As everybody, at the beginning he was beaten with Goku and then he followed him of hidden to steal the Spheres of the Dragon to him: Yamcha in fact was extremely shy with the girls and he wanted the spheres to resolve his problem. Then him and Bulma were engaged and the possession of the spheres became superfluous.

 

Tien  

He is an earthling endowed with 3 eyes, he was trained by the hermit of the Crane or Condor, harsh rival of Muten, Goku teacher. Goku had to face him during the Tenkaichi after Tien had broken a leg to Yamcha. Muten however succeeded in bringing it on the road of good and to subtract it to the ill-omened influence of his wicked teacher. Tien is always accompanied by Choazu, a little man from strange powers with the aspect of a doll: theirs is a very firm friendship that will bring them to sacrifice the one for the other.

 

Trunks  

He is the first Vegeta and Bulma's son, and as Gohan and Goten is a Saiyan stronger than the father. Calm, reflexive, and calculating he is a good and altuist person. He comes from the future to teach the Z team.

 

18  

He is one of the cyborgs that will fight against the Z team, putting them in serious difficulty, kind Krillin, of which is gotten enamor. After having been saved by the imprisonment of Cell, bride Krillin and has a daughter, Marion.

 

Piccolo-Daimoho

He is the first bad of Dragon Ball. He is a powerful magician that terrorized the Earth before being stopped by Muten teacher. Before being killed by Goku he succeeds in sending his child Piccolo far away to avenge him, but this intention won't be granted.

 

Raditz  

Goku's brother; five years after the third Tenkaichi arrives on earth to look for him and he discloses him his extraterrestrial origin. He uses, as all the Saiyan do, a scouter, a detector in degree to gain the strength of his enemies and to quantify it. Raditz can fly and holds his tail wound around his life.

 

Freeza  

He is the most dangerous adversary of the first part of the Z series. Responsable of the destruction of the Saiyan native planete, will be faced by Goku when he will try to appropriate the planet Namecc, country of Piccolo-Daimoho and Piccolo. It has the possibility to change.

 

17  

He is 18's twin brother.With her he rebelled to Dr.Gelo and persists in his purpose to kill Goku "to have a purpose in life". He hates his creator, that has brought her in life under form of a cyborg; in fact first he was a simple human boy. He is stronger than his sister.

 

Cell  

Created from the mad mind of the Dr. Cold, he is surely the most powerful bio warrior of the history. Like Trunks, returns from the future to absorb the cyborgs 17 and 18, becoming so the perfect warrior. He organizes the Cell Game in which is defeated by Gohan.

 

Majin Buu  

He is the terrible God of the Clouds, returned after the definitive death of Cell to devastate together with his fighters the whole universe. To defeat him, Goku, Vegeta, Goten and Trunks will resort to the fusions, at least until Goku won't reach the Ultimate Super Saiyan state.
